2001年中国科学院广州地球化学研究所博士毕业,后留所工作。先后任助理研究员(2001. 8 – 2003. 4)、副研究员(2003. 5 – 2011. 8)、研究员(2011.9–现今)。曾在澳大利亚University of Wollongong进行访问研究。从攻读博士学位以来一直从事生物-有机地球化学研究。主持多项国家自然科学基金面上、重大项目子课题、中科院知识创新工程重大项目子课题、国家战略先导科技专项课题、973计划子课题。近年来,针对全球变化研究中古生态系统重建与温度定量化重建的难点问题,以有机分子标志化合物为手段,开展了一系列的现代过程和地质记录重建研究,研究工作重点主要包括:① 寻找和发展有机分子环境替代指标;② 应用特征生物标志物与相关替代指标解决重大地质事件时期的气候环境问题;③ 边缘海地区的人类活动对碳埋藏的影响。
