宋之光博士，男，研究员，博士生导师。1986 -1994年在中国科学院兰州地质研究所任研究实习员、助理研究员， 主要从事近现代、现代沉积有机地球化学及其在环境和油气勘探方面的应用研究；1992年-1994年在澳大利亚CSIRO石油地质研究所进行访问研究；1999年-2001年在美国布鲁克文（Brookhaven National Laboratory）国家实验室环境科学系开展博士后研究；2000年入选中国科学院“引进国外杰出人才计划”。2001年至今在中国科学院广州地球化学研究所工作。主要从事有机地球化学及其在油气成因勘探及环境领域的理论和应用研究。目前的主要研究领域和方向有：有机地球化学在原油裂解气、古气候环境恢复重建、现代海底沉积环境和海底水合物有关的生物有机地球化学过程等方面的基础与应用研究，以及大气细粒子化学成分在线监测技术研究及其在大气污染研究及其防治中的应用。
